Laying the foundation stone of the Integrated Interdisciplinary Medical Simulation Centre building
The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Integrated Interdisciplinary Medical Simulation Centre building took place on Friday, February 12th, 2016.
The Foundation Act was signed by the host of the ceremony, His Magnificence the Rector of MUL Prof. Andrzej Drop as well as the Lubelskie Province Governor Przemysław Czarnek, an adviser to the Speaker of the Sejm Prof. Waldemar Paruch, the President of Lublin Krzysztof Żuk, the MUL Chancellor Ewa Abramek and His Excellency the Metropolitan Bishop of Lublin Stanisław Budzik. The event was accompanied by a presentation of a design for the Simulation Centre.
The site was blessed by His Excellency the Metropolitan Bishop of Lublin Stanisław Budzik and the new facility is to be built in place of the former canteen, next to Collegium Pharmaceuticum, address: ul. Chodźki 4. The construction work is expected to take over a year. The new building will have been put into use by the end of 2017.
The training offered by the Medical Simulation Centre will involve producing a convincing recreation of real-life events and set of conditions with the use of training devices. It will also meet the requirements of education standards set for such degree courses as: Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Obstetric Nursing, Physiotherapy and Emergency Medicine.
Financial resources for the implementation of the project were won by MUL in a POWER programme competition. POWER programme aims at financing projects within Priority Axis 5 – Support for the development of healthcare, Measure 5.3 High quality of medical education.
