NBME is required of All Students of the Medical University of Lublin who want to take USMLE exams!!!
Basic Science Students and Graduates eligibility to take any USMLE Exam:
Effective January 1, 2011: All students who are continuing and those who have completed Basic Medical Sciences and ALL previous and futureGRADUATES are required to obtain a satisfactory score on the appropriate NBME proctored exam administered by the University at its centers either in the USA or Poland to be eligible to sit for any USMLE exam.
· Any Student upon completion of Basic Sciences or any Graduate wanting to sit for the USMLE Step 1 Exam would have to obtain a satisfactory score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Basic Science Comprehensive Examination administered and proctored by the University.
· Students or Graduates wanting to take the USMLE Step 2CS exam must have passed the USMLE Step 1 exam first. (As stated above, to be eligible for USMLE Step 1, you must pass the NBME Basic Science Comprehensive Exam).
· Students or Graduates wanting to take the USMLE Step 2CK exam must obtain a satisfactory score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Clinical Science Exam administered and proctored by the University.
The passing score on the Comprehensive Examinations will be announced annually (this year it is 68) by the university. Upon successfully passing the appropriate NBME comprehensive exam, students would be sponsored for either of the USMLE examination.

Attention: Students who took the May 2011 NBME Exam in Poland
“For all students who completed Basic Sciences in May 2011 or afterwards and took the NBME Basic Science exam (Step 1) in May 2011 in Poland, that particular exam will not be counted as your first attempt – you will be allowed for three additional NBME exams after the one you took in May 2011. This is not applicable to any other exam and is only applicable to the May 2011 NBME Basic Science exam, only for those students who completed Basic Sciences in 2011.”
