Tax Form 1098-T - for US residents

What is the IRS Form 1098-T?

If you are a US resident for tax purposes, you may be eligible to claim a tax credit or deduction on your federal tax return if you paid qualified educational expenses to the Medical University of Lublin.

The IRS Form 1098-T is provided, as required by the IRS, to provide information that may assist you in completing your individual tax return. It provides the total dollar amount paid by the student for what is referred to as qualified tuition and related expenses in a single tax year.

When will I receive my Form 1098-T?

The University has partnered with ECSI Heartland to release 1098-T forms to students. It is done by January 31st of each year.

How will I receive my Form 1098-T?

Students who have opted-in to receive statements electronically will receive a notification from ECSI Heartland with instructions on how to access statements online within 24 hours of the University approving the 1098-T data.

Students are not required to provide their consent annually. ECSI will maintain the student statement delivery preference during their entire enrollment period.

If electronic consent is not received by December 31, 2022, the 1098-T will be mailed by ECSI Heartland to the current address on file.

Attention:

Please note that the 1098-T will NOT be reissued to reflect an updated address.

To verify or update your address for Form 1098-T for the 2022 tax year, please contact Financial Department at financial.department@umlub.pl by December 31, 2022.
